Infinite Bliss Yoga

May is the month to visit Mary Vaananen’s gorgeous green garden. It is also the month for honoring your mom. The photo was taken in Mary’s backyard and features Mary, Denise, Laura, and Rose – four females from the Infinite Bliss circle of friends – and this brings me to the subject of goddesses.

In Tantra, the Divine has two equally important aspects – Siva and Sakti. Siva is the male aspect and is transcendent pure Consciousness. Sakti is the female aspect and is perceivable through the senses and mind and personified as the Goddess. The word sakti literally means “power, potency, energy, capacity, capability.” The spiritual energy of the Divine is sakti and it is always moving, dancing, and playing as the Goddess.

Take time this month to thank a mom/female/goddess – she will appreciate it!
